The competition is held at the
Concert Hall of the City Hall in Hévíz

It is organized by the Musica Antiqua Ensemble Hévíz Hungary
and Illyés Gyula Primary and Art School, Hévíz.

Conditions:

The competition is open for every recorder player of any school type.

Age limit: no older than 26 years

Rounds: one round in two days

Category: solo recorder

Registration fee: €50

An official harpsichord accompagnist is provided, if it is necessary during the competition by Gábor Prehoffer (€50/ person, which is payed in cash, on the spot).

For the competition we provide two harpsichords (Italian Grimaldi-copy, 1 manual, tuning: 415-440, French Taskin-copy, 2 manuals, tuning: 415-440) and a Kawai concert piano.

Jury: a five-member international professional jury:

Anneke Boeke: a recorder artist, chamber music artist, professor of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and the retired professor of the Royal Academy of Music in London.

Rahel Stoellger: recorder artist, chamber music artist, professor of the Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Vienna

Katarina Ducai: recorder artist, chamber music artist, professor of the Conservatory in Bratislava, recorder teacher in the Johann Sebastian Bach Music School in Vienna

Anna Januj: recorder artist, chamber music artist, reader of the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Leipzig

Benedek Fülep : recorder artist, chamber music artist, teacher of Veres Péter High School in Budapest, founder of the private Music School Musik und Herz in Graz

Age groups and time limits:

  1. for students born: 2008.08.31-2006. 09.01. – playing time: 6 minutes
  2. for students born: 2006.08.31-2004. 09.01. – playing time: 7 minutes
  3. for students born: 2004.08.31-2002. 09.01. – playing time: 8 minutes
  4. for students born: 2002.08.31 -2000.09.01. – playing time: 10 minutes
  5. for students born: 2000.08.31 -1994.03.20. – playing time: 10 minutes

There is no compulsory music piece in the competition. We insist on choosing two pieces of music in different character.

We would like to kindly ask you to keep the playing time limit. When it is expires the jury can stop the performance, any time.

EVALUATION:

Number of points: 100

Prizes:

1st prize: 91-100 points

2nd prize: 81-90 points

3rd prize: 71-80 points

The jury awards 1st 2nd and 3rd prizes in every age cathegory and special ones are given for outstanding performances and unique presentations.
